Your appointment with sedation support

For laughing gas, your provider will fit the mask comfortably over your nose at the start of your appointment and you'll begin to feel relaxed within a few minutes. For oral conscious sedation, you'll take your prescribed medication at the designated time before your appointment and arrive with a driver who will stay to take you home afterward. Throughout your visit, your provider and team will monitor your comfort level closely and check in with you regularly to make sure everything feels manageable. Our conscious sedation room is available for patients who need a quieter, more private setting for their appointment.

Recovery and follow-up care

After laughing gas, recovery is nearly immediate and most patients feel completely back to normal within a few minutes of the mask being removed. After oral conscious sedation, you can expect to feel drowsy and relaxed for several hours following your appointment, so plan to rest at home for the remainder of the day with your driver available.
